As you know, yesterday Go Local released our new Local Search Index. The purpose of this index is to track local search activity across 50 cities and 30 verticals to provide Internet marketers with critical data for making decisions about their online campaigns.
In this video, Jason Barrett walks you through the new Local Search Index to provide you an understanding of what the index is, where it came from, and what we intend to have it used for going forward. Jason also touches on some initial data points and provides an early look at next month’s data as well.

Great intro to the data. I’ve had the pleasure of digging into this data. I think the search marketing world will be both impressed and happy to have this type of data. I strongly urge everyone to click the download image link to the right.
Jason and Caleb,
The data is really interesting. However, I could not find too much information about the methodology of the research, as well as about how the absolute index numbers were produced.
Thanks!
